Lidköping Cultural School is now seeking an engaged electric bass teacher. Lidköping is a place where life is rich – in culture, leisure, quality of life, and opportunities. At our cultural school, children and young people discover the joy of music and creativity. We are now seeking a passionate and creative music teacher who wants to help develop our operations and inspire the next generation of musicians and artists. At Lidköping Cultural School, we primarily teach children and youth aged 5-19, but also adults when space permits. Our music activities span music, singing, and ensemble, and we mainly offer instruction in our facilities in the City Garden. In autumn 2024, we became a cultural school after being a music school for 49 years. We also launched our open activities, where children and young people can explore a variety of cultural expressions in different locations around the municipality. Job Responsibilities As a teacher with us, you will: - Teach electric bass and to some extent guitar – both individually and in groups. - Lead band rehearsals where students have the opportunity to play together, practice collaboration, and create music as a team. - Adapt instruction to suit each student's needs and level, focusing on both technique and expression. - Be an important part of the Cultural School's music activities and participate in concerts and other events where students can showcase their progress. - Act as a role model and convey values of respect, collaboration, and creative learning. Who Are You? You are passionate about music and want to inspire young people to develop and dare to express themselves. You have excellent skills in electric bass and guitar, and experience playing in bands or leading band rehearsals. A pedagogical education in music is required, and you are comfortable in the role of a teacher. We would be particularly interested if you have additional musical talents or experiences, such as other instruments, singing, songwriting, or arranging – these are merit-making! Personality is most important to us – we are seeking someone who is positive, engaged, and attentive, who wants to create a safe and inspiring learning environment. You are flexible, enjoy collaboration, and actively contribute to an operation characterized by respect, commitment, responsibility, and openness. It is also advantageous if you have a driver's license and computer skills, as these facilitate planning, administration, and work in different locations.
