SödervÀrnskolan
SödervÀrnskolan is a workplace with approximately 665 students and around 95 staff members.
The school offers grades 4-9, a large after-school program, and two special education groups, one of which is a collaboration with a specialized school, as well as a newly renovated school library.
We aim to create a good study environment for everyone through clear structure, collegial collaboration, and shared responsibility. We engage in school development to continually evolve into a leading school, focusing on safety, well-being, and higher achievement. The catchment area includes southern Visby, Eskelhem, VÀsterhejde, TrÀkumla, and Stenkumla.
The school features a newly renovated library and café, as well as social pedagogues providing extra support for students. A counselor and school nurse are present daily.
SödervÀrnskolan has a good sports hall and access to dedicated classrooms for home economics and handicrafts. The school has its own kitchen that serves fantastic meals.

Your Responsibilities
You will work as an art teacher in our fantastic team at SödervÀrnskolan, where you will embark on a developmental journey with us!
Teaching will take place in grades 4-9. Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, and following up on instruction based on students' needs, as well as documenting students' learning processes and contributing to the development of the subject and the school's activities alongside other teachers. You will be part of a working team responsible for the academic and social development of the students.
At SödervÀrnskolan, you will be met by an enthusiastic and competent staff group with a forward-thinking attitude and a desire to continuously develop. You will have access to subject teacher colleagues who will collaboratively plan, evaluate, and follow up on instruction. The position includes a mentorship role for a class in grades 7-9.
This position is a temporary contract but with the possibility of extension. There is also an option to work part-time.
Who Are You?
We are looking for a licensed primary school teacher with qualifications in art, preferably combined with another subject.
You are confident in your teaching role, a clear leader, and well-versed in the school's governing documents. We see that you have the ability to meet students individually and create a positive learning atmosphere in your teaching. You can build trusting relationships with students and parents, work independently, and demonstrate good leadership both in and out of the classroom while capturing and stimulating students' curiosity, interest, and learning. You have high and positive expectations for students and their ability to develop.
About the Education and Labor Administration
As part of Region Gotland, we in the Education and Labor Administration contribute to the learning and development of children, youth, and adults. We are responsible for preschool, primary school, after-school programs, adapted primary and secondary schools, culture schools, upper secondary and adult education, labor market initiatives, youth centers, and the reception and establishment of newcomers. Together, we provide opportunities for lifelong learning.
