Wage Consultant, Salary and Pension

Salary and Pension is part of the municipality's HR unit and is centrally located at the City Management Office. We support the municipalities of Umeå and Vindeln in payroll and personnel administration, both consultatively and operationally, and are responsible for processing salaries, fees, and pensions for employees and elected officials. Our focus is on making it easy to do the right thing, ensuring that the correct salary is paid out on time. Your Responsibilities As a payroll consultant, you will provide consultative and operational support to managers, employees, elected officials, and other partners. You will offer support and train managers and employees in the application of laws, agreements, processes, and working methods, as well as in the use of personnel and payroll systems. You will work to build good relationships and maintain a professional approach in your interactions. Processing payroll administrative tasks: You will perform registrations, various checks, and correct erroneous payroll data. You will provide feedback to managers and employees and follow up on processes and routines to enhance understanding and reduce the risk of incorrect salary payments in the future. Actively contribute to the development of the organization: You will stay updated on changes in agreements and systems, and train and support colleagues in your area. You will actively participate in development projects and suggest ways we can work proactively and holistically. Contribute to an open and creative environment: You will encourage diverse perspectives and collaborate well with others. You will be willing to try new ideas and contribute to simple and effective solutions. About You You have post-secondary education as a payroll specialist or equivalent higher education. You have experience working independently in payroll administration and customer support in a consultative role. We prefer that you have experience with payroll administration in the Personec P payroll system and familiarity with municipal agreements. We are looking for a positive problem-solver who enjoys change work. You are a communicative and service-minded person with an eye for detail and structure. You enjoy working both independently and collaboratively. We place great importance on personal qualities and believe that you are an independent and confident person capable of building good relationships. All communication in our systems and with authorities is conducted in Swedish, which means you need to be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.
