About this role
Make a difference. Every day.
The medical specialization training (ST) begins with a standalone, goal-oriented introductory phase, known as basic training (BT). The duration of the BT is 12 months, divided into three to four blocks within hospital somatics (acute conditions), psychiatry, and primary care. During BT in Region Skåne, you may be placed either in the Northwest (Helsingborg Ängelholm), Northeast (Kristianstad Hässleholm), at Skåne University Hospital Sus (Lund Malmö), or Ystad.
The duration of BT is estimated to be around one year in Region Skåne, but it may take longer if the physician needs to complete additional training days or educational activities to meet the objectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
With us, we do everything to train good clinicians during the BT training by giving you, as a BT physician, significant responsibility under close supervision.
In the department, you will work alongside senior physicians, specialists, or experienced ST physicians. You will perform common tasks of a junior doctor under supervision. The primary care placement will occur within or in nearby municipalities in the catchment area of the location where you are doing BT. You can express a preference for your placement location, but we reserve the right to assign placements based on the needs of the service and the ability to offer a good BT placement.
BT begins with a mandatory introductory period of about two weeks, which includes various educational components interspersed with clinical duties/introduction. At the beginning of your BT, there is also a specific acute course lasting three days.
During your training, you will also participate in STRAMA training and ongoing lectures and teaching days throughout the BT year. Each placement has a responsible study director, and you will be assigned a personal clinical supervisor. You will also have a primary supervisor who will follow you and your professional development throughout the BT period. We make individual considerations regarding the choice of clinical placements to ensure you get the most out of your training. We hope that your time with us will be so inspiring that you will want to stay within Region Skåne even after your BT.
The regional management in Skåne has decided that there is only one pathway to complete BT. More information on how to apply for BT can be found at http://vardgivare.skane.se/kompetens-utveckling/bt

In addition to formal qualifications, we place great importance on personal maturity, judgment, empathy, and collaboration skills. Furthermore, we expect you to be engaged, proactive, communicative, and possess leadership qualities. Previous experience as a junior doctor within Swedish healthcare, research, and educational experience is advantageous.

NOTE! You cannot supplement your application after the application deadline on December 5. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Other qualifications you refer to in your application must be substantiated with certificates during a possible interview.
We use digital reference checking. If you progress in the selection process, you will receive a link via email where you fill in the names and email addresses of your three referees who know how you perform in clinical duties. They should be willing to respond digitally and have time to answer the questions by Thursday, June 5. We prefer that these are individuals from Swedish work experience, including one manager. If you do not have clinical experience, please provide contacts who can assess you in another professional role.
Interviews will be held on January 19 and 20.
