About this role
Freja is 8 years old and lives in Påvelund with her family.
She has extensive disabilities and needs help with most things – but that doesn’t mean life stands still! She loves warm baths, when someone sings loudly for her (off-key singing is also fine), feeling the sun on her face, and receiving lots of closeness. Some days are tougher, and your task is to help her relax and feel as good as possible.
During the day, she attends school, where she has the school's assistants. However, you will meet her after school and accompany her home. Double assistance is required at certain times of the day/some days.
Working Hours
Monday–Thursday: 15:05–20:15 / 15:05–22:00
Friday: 13:35–20:15 / 13:35–22:00
Saturday–Sunday: 09:15–15:00 / 09:30–20:30 / 11:00–22:00
There is an opportunity for extra shifts during school breaks or if Freja is home sick.
Freja also has awake nights from 22:00–09:00, which may become relevant in the future for the right person.
Who are you?
You don’t need a superhero cape, but you:
- Have a big heart, with plenty of energy and warmth to give
- Are reliable, attentive, and can sense what Freja needs
- Can lift, bounce on a Pilates ball, and sit with Freja in your lap
- Retain a childlike spirit and enjoy coming up with fun activities
- Take responsibility, are meticulous, and dare to take your own initiatives
- Speak fluent Swedish (you will be Freja's voice in many situations)
- Are smoke-free
Extra points if you have a driver's license, experience in assistance, working with children with disabilities, physiotherapy, or massage – but the right attitude is what matters most!
Employment Type
The position starts as a part-time employment with the possibility of transitioning to a fixed-term contract as long as the assistance assignment lasts, with a fixed schedule and a working percentage of about 50%.
From spring 2026, there is also the possibility of an 80% temporary position, which can transition to a fixed-term contract as long as the assistance assignment lasts.
GIL has been coordinating personal assistance since 1989. The cooperative has roots in the Independent Living movement, which is based on the principle that those with disabilities know best how they want to live their lives. Typically, the person entitled to assistance is the closest supervisor of the assistants, or a person with specific knowledge about the individual is appointed.
