Make a difference. Every day. We are now seeking a nurse for the role of Quality and Patient Safety Officer (KPH) for the Acute Care area (VO) in Southwest Close Care. On January 1, 2025, the new administration Close Care and Health was established and is currently being developed. The Acute Care unit within this administration consists of emergency departments in Skåne that do not operate around the clock, as well as all evening and weekend clinics in Skåne. You will be part of the management team for the Southwest Acute Care area within Close Care and Health, alongside unit managers from Malmö, Lund/Eslöv, Landskrona, and Trelleborg, as well as a medical advisor and the physician responsible for medical management. You will report directly to the operations manager for the Southwest Acute Care area. RESPONSIBILITIES In the role of KPH, you will be the driving force behind the systematic patient safety work within the area of operations. Your work will involve responsibility for the implementation and feedback of decisions and actions related to patient safety. You will work across the area of operations and collaborate with other KPHs within the administration. Furthermore, you will coordinate quality measurements and participate in preventive patient safety work. You will be responsible for quality assurance of protocols, routines, and guidelines within the nursing field. Additionally, you will engage in monitoring external developments, sharing information about news related to patient safety, and conducting regular patient safety training for employees within the area of operations. You will support and assist unit-level managers in patient safety issues as per their requests, as well as in handling deviations, follow-ups, and evaluations within the area of operations. Moreover, you will contribute to the development of competency programs within the area and introductory programs for new employees regarding patient safety issues. You will be a superuser of the deviation system, providing information and training to colleagues, and supporting the medical advisor. This is a combined role where you will work 75 percent as KPH across all units within the Southwest Acute Care area in close collaboration with managers, the medical advisor, and the physician responsible for medical management, and 25 percent as a clinical nurse at an agreed-upon unit. The position includes travel. This position is newly established, and there are significant opportunities to contribute to the patient safety structure within the area of operations. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s language scale is required. You should have clinical experience as a nurse. Additionally, good computer skills are essential for the position. Previous experience in overarching patient safety work is an advantage. We also prefer candidates with knowledge of deviation systems, Melior, PASiS, and Excel. As a person, you are structured, solution-oriented, and responsible in your professional role. We seek someone who is communicative, enjoys training others, and collaborates easily. You are also independent and proactive. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
