We are looking for Folkuniversitetet is currently seeking engaged and knowledgeable course leaders in furniture carpentry for our operations in Kräftriket, located just outside Roslagstull near Stockholm University. We are primarily looking for a course leader for the Furniture Carpentry Program - evenings and weekends, where you, together with a colleague, will be responsible for planning, teaching, and the development of participants. The position is scheduled for Mondays from 5:45 PM to 9:30 PM throughout the spring term, as well as two weekend sessions during the term (Friday to Sunday from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM). As a course leader, you need to have very good practical and theoretical knowledge in furniture carpentry, including machine handling, to guide participants in a safe and professional manner. We are also looking for freelance course leaders who wish to conduct shorter evening and weekend courses in furniture carpentry, for both beginners and more experienced participants. About the position As a course leader, you will be responsible for: • Planning, conducting, and following up on teaching according to the syllabus • Leading a group of up to 10 participants and creating a dynamic, safe, and inclusive learning environment • Inspiring, mentoring, and supporting participants in their creative processes • Adapting teaching to the group’s levels and individual needs • Performing certain administrative tasks, such as attendance registration, evaluation, and quality work • Contributing ideas and development for the operations The work is scheduled for evenings and weekends. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: • Pedagogical understanding and preferably experience in teaching • The ability to adapt teaching to different participants' needs • Experience in leading groups in creative or practical subjects, preferably in adult education • Relevant education and professional experience in furniture carpentry/fine woodworking • Very good knowledge of machines, tools, and safety in a workshop environment • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Good social and communication skills • Proficiency in Swedish and English • Basic IT skills Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
