About this role

Make a Difference. Every Day. Are you looking for a fun, diverse, and inspiring job as a social worker? Then you might be who we're seeking! Following a political decision and due to changes in the medication-assisted treatment for opioid dependence (LARO) care choice, Addiction Center Malmö/Trelleborg is hiring new staff. The LARO care choice according to the Freedom of Choice Act (LOV) will end on April 30, 2026. Currently, approximately one-third of patients are treated at publicly operated LARO clinics. When the care choice ends, the proportion is expected to rise to about two-thirds. As today, patients will continue to be able to choose a care provider in accordance with the Patient Act. We have a mission that includes a comprehensive medical commitment for patients with long-term opioid dependence. Here we work with medical treatment, counseling, care coordination and planning, psychological testing and assessment, and basic somatic care related to substance abuse, harmful use, and addiction issues. LARO (medication-assisted rehabilitation for opioid dependence) aims to prevent relapse, improve social function, and reduce medical complications, infection spread, and mortality. Treatment is individually tailored and provided based on the patient's needs and with respect for the patient's self-determination and integrity. To optimize patient care, collaboration is required not only within the clinic team but also with other actors such as Social Services, Social Insurance Agency, and the Prison and Probation Service. Region Skåne's LARO clinics in Malmö-Trelleborg work according to the National Board of Health and Welfare guidelines. The guidelines for LARO treatment changed in 2016 from opiate dependence to opioid dependence, meaning treatment is also available for people with long-term pain issues. Our existing clinics are staffed by psychiatric nurses, general nurses, healthcare assistants, peer support, social workers, psychologists, medical secretaries, and specialist physicians in psychiatry/addiction. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a social worker here, you play a crucial role in being available as support for our patients and society's support, working with Individual Care Plans and My Plans. In your role, you will work with psychosocial assessments, evaluations, and treatment. You are the team's psychosocial expert, working comprehensively with this key competence for patients, relatives, staff, and in collaboration with our care neighbors such as social services and the Prison and Probation Service. You will also contribute to the important work of recognizing children as relatives, understanding children's situations, and their need for advice and support. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking someone with a social work degree. Being a licensed healthcare social worker is highly meritorious. For licensed professionals, Swedish language skills at least at C1 level according to the European Framework are required. Experience in addiction care and interest in working with our target group is advantageous. We also value Step-1 competence in CBT, proficiency in Melior, and Microsoft Office. We seek a confident and stable person who can handle difficult conversations, work independently while collaborating with colleagues and partners. You are humble, helpful, and always patient-focused. You are detailed, able to prioritize tasks, flexible, and adaptable. Personal suitability is highly important. We apply continuous selection in this recruitment. Warmly welcome to apply today - we look forward to getting to know you!
