Are you passionate about collaborating with school management and other student health personnel to create the best possible conditions for students' health, learning, and development? Do you have a health-promoting approach? Currently, Härjedalen Municipality is looking for a counselor for Norra School, the village schools in Lofsdalen, Lillhärdal, and Ytterhogdal, and to a certain extent Södra School. As a counselor in Härjedalen Municipality, you will play a central and important role in the school's student health work. Together, we work to create safety, well-being, and a meaningful school experience for our students. You will be employed within the joint student health services and be part of each school's interdisciplinary student health team, which includes school management, special education teachers, study and career counselors, school nurses, school psychologists, and school physicians. Responsibilities - Work to promote students' mental health, well-being, and social development. - Contribute with psychosocial and social competence at the individual, group, and organizational level, which, among other things, involves work in classrooms and various groups, providing advice and support to staff, school management, and guardians, as well as being involved in the schools' development activities. - Offer psychosocial support, motivational conversations, and counseling to students, guardians, and staff, collaborate with external contacts such as social services, psychiatry, police, or other stakeholders, and provide guidance and consultation to educators and staff, as there is always a need for supportive and remedial interventions. - Contribute knowledge about various support services and external assistance related to children and families, and be responsible for psychosocial assessments for, among other things, school form investigations. Qualifications Requirements: - Degree in social work or another higher education qualification deemed equivalent by the employer. - Presentation of a criminal record extract. Meritorious: - Documented knowledge and work experience in working with children and youth. - Previous experience as a counselor. Personal qualities - You have a strong ability to build trusting relationships with children and adolescents, are flexible and resilient under stress, and possess excellent communication skills. - You should be able to lead groups and classes as this is part of the counselor's role in promoting student health work. - You want to and can collaborate with others as the job entails cooperation with various work groups and external stakeholders. - You are driven and can work independently, with the ability to think strategically and systematically, as you will carry out a significant part of your work on your own.
