Curator for Hearing Rehabilitation

The Hearing Rehabilitation team, consisting of seven employees, is part of the Ear-Nose-Throat department. The unit is located on the hospital grounds in Gävle and Hudiksvall and operates across the county, responsible for habilitation and rehabilitation for individuals with hearing impairment/deafness/deafblindness. Within the hearing rehabilitation team, we work in a cross-professional setting that includes a hearing educator, sign language instructor, interpreter coordinator, social worker, audiologist, and special educator. **JOB DESCRIPTION** The mission of the Hearing Rehabilitation team is to provide rehabilitative services in accordance with the Health and Medical Services Act. We cater to individuals with varying degrees of hearing impairment, those experiencing tinnitus and/or sound sensitivity, as well as individuals with deafblindness. We collaborate with the visual center, Kom-X, hearing care services, and the Ear-Nose-Throat department. Our interventions aim to provide, restore, and create conditions for living an independent life with good quality of life and effective communication. The social worker in the team works with both the children’s and adult teams. As we operate across the county, travel is a part of the job. It is important that you are empathetic in your communication style and have a flexible mindset.
