At the Violence in Close Relationships Unit, you will use your skills where they truly matter – for people who need it the most.
We are currently seeking a social worker for our counseling center, where you will become part of an experienced and dedicated team that focuses on support, change, and development.
One of our colleagues has transitioned to a coordinator position within the unit – now we’re looking for you to take the baton forward.
About Us
We are a specialized unit within the City of Trollhättan with the mission to provide support, protection, and change in situations involving violence, oppression, and vulnerability.
The unit consists of:
- A safe house for women and children affected by violence
- A counseling center for victims and perpetrators of violence
- Social workers with specific expertise in the field
- Barnahus Fyrbodal – a collaborative space for children who have experienced violence or abuse
We operate on behalf of the City of Trollhättan but also serve municipalities in Fyrbodal. Our work encompasses violence in intimate relationships, honor-related violence and oppression, sexual assault, exploitation, and human trafficking for sexual purposes.

Your Mission
As a social worker with us, you will have a varied and meaningful role. You will, among other tasks:
- Provide individual support sessions for individuals affected by violence in close relationships
- Conduct change-oriented discussions with perpetrators of violence
- Lead discussion groups for both victims and perpetrators
- Collaborate with other authorities and stakeholders
- Participate in method and development work within the unit
- Contribute to training and information efforts concerning violence in close relationships
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a social worker or has another equivalent higher education
- Has experience working with violence in close relationships
- Has good knowledge of violence, honor-related violence, and current legislation
- Has experience with individual treatment work
- Is capable of working independently but also values collaboration
- Easily interacts with other professionals and authorities
- Enjoys disseminating knowledge and speaking in front of groups
Meriting Qualifications:
- Knowledge of trauma and trauma-informed responses
- Training in risk assessment or structured conversation models
- Specialization in honor-related violence and oppression
- Experience leading group activities
