About this role
Habilitation & Health offers specialized care and support to individuals with long-term functional disabilities, such as reduced ability to communicate, see, hear, or move. The goal is to maintain and develop functional capacity, create conditions for good health, and enable active participation in society. Do you want to make a difference for people with functional disabilities? Welcome to Habilitation & Health, part of the Västra Götaland Region. Together, we have the power to create change.
Habilitation is specialized healthcare for children and youth with autism, intellectual disabilities, mobility impairments, or acquired brain injuries. We provide health-promoting and treatment interventions based on each individual's unique needs and conditions, with specialized knowledge about how functional disabilities can impact daily life, health, and development.
Description
Are you a social worker looking for a varied and educational job where you can interact with children/youth and their families? We hope you'll apply for the social worker position at Habilitation Gamlestaden, Children and Youth.
The clinic is located near SKF with good transportation. This is a permanent full-time (100%) position.
Job Responsibilities
As a social worker, you'll be part of a cross-professional team working with children and youth with various functional disabilities, conducting psychosocial work centered on the patient. It's a diverse role involving preventive, supportive, and treatment-oriented work. You'll collaborate closely with children and youth, parents, patient representatives, and colleagues. Together with the team, you'll plan and implement interventions for patients and their parents/representatives, which can be individual or group-based during specific treatment periods. The team will evaluate these interventions upon completion.
Psychosocial work tasks include:
- Crisis and support counseling
- Information about social support
- Network work
Our service targets children and youth with long-term mobility impairments as the primary functional variation, potentially combined with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
We offer an introductory period with a mentor, observation opportunities with social worker and team colleagues, excellent opportunities for peer supervision, and external supervision.
Regular professional meetings are held with social worker colleagues both at the clinic and regionally.
Qualifications
We seek a trained social worker specializing in psychosocial work. We prefer a licensed healthcare social worker or someone who will obtain licensure during the transition period. As you'll work in cross-professional teams, previous team experience is important. The work involves collaboration with parents, various professional groups, other healthcare providers, municipalities, and authorities, requiring significant independence, flexibility, and strong collaborative skills.
Experience working with children and youth with functional disabilities in our target group is advantageous. Good knowledge of mobility impairments, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and their associated needs is also beneficial. Personal suitability is highly valued.
