About this role
There is something special about Avesta!
Here, you will find not only Dala horses and rushing rapids but also will and courage, initiative and faith in the future. It is the strength of the people that makes Avesta unique. Together, we are building Avesta's future – do you want to be a part of it?
Do you want to work with cultural development that makes a real difference? As a cultural consultant in Avesta, you will become a central part of a creative and engaged organization where the power of culture is used to build community, participation, and quality of life. With us, you will have the opportunity to influence, develop, and collaborate with stakeholders from the entire cultural sector – from associations and independent creators to study associations, schools, and other municipal activities. This is a position for you who are passionate about culture. You want to work both strategically and practically, enjoy variety, and thrive on taking responsibility, creating structure, and driving development together with others.
**About the Role**
As a cultural consultant, you are a key person in Culture Avesta and work closely with the cultural manager on planning, follow-up, and development of the operations. You contribute with analyses, statistics, background material, and reports to support political processes and participate in the development of guidelines and governing documents. The role also involves creating structure in daily work, coordinating processes, and taking responsibility for administration, record-keeping, and financial aspects such as invoice management, accounting, and processing of association grants.
A central part of your assignment is to develop and broaden the cultural offerings throughout the municipality together with colleagues in the cultural school, library, and Verket/Avesta Art, focusing on participation, accessibility, and collaboration. You build relationships and partnerships with associations, study associations, civil society, and professional creators, and provide support for initiatives such as the Cultural Guarantee, projects for the elderly, and other areas of development. The work also involves initiating and driving processes that strengthen residents' opportunities to participate in cultural life – both as an audience and as co-creators.
You will also be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing cultural events and programs primarily at Karlfeldtsgården during the summer – in collaboration with external actors. The role includes producing and publishing content for the web, social media, and printed materials, as well as contributing to communication planning and the development of a cohesive cultural communication strategy. You thrive in meetings with partners and residents. You work inclusively, service-oriented, and relationship-building, creating clear and effective processes in both strategic and practical aspects of the work.

- Documented experience in building relationships and networks within the cultural sector – you have worked with associations, study associations, and civil society and can provide concrete examples of how you have initiated and developed collaborations that have created added value and led to results.
- Good administrative and financial skills, including invoice management and basic follow-ups.
- Excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish, as well as good knowledge of English.
- Experience in communication work, publishing on the web and social media – you should be able to provide examples of how you have planned and produced content that engages different target groups.
