**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
As Cultural Director, you contribute to making Gävle Municipality even more attractive for Gävle residents, other municipal residents, visitors, voluntary actors, and the business community. Your overarching mission is to ensure that the cultural life in the municipality develops according to the direction of the Culture and Leisure Committee: a sustainable cultural life of high quality. This means that the intrinsic value of culture must be safeguarded, culture must be accessible to all, and the needs and rights of children and young people are particularly important.
You report to the sector manager of Livsmiljö Gävle, who is your direct supervisor, and you are part of the sector's management team. In this role, you have budgetary and operational responsibility as well as personnel responsibility over the heads of the operations. You adopt a trust-based approach in your leadership and have a structured and systematic working method. Through your strong collaborative skills and good demeanor, you lead the operations to achieve the right quality.
You lead the management team of the Culture division with heads of the units: Art and Culture, Meeting Places and Youth, Libraries and Culture Houses, as well as Concerts and Events. The operational area includes the public library mission, Agnes Cultural Center with Gävle Art Center and Cinema 7, the Culture School, Gas Tanks, Concert Hall with Gävle Symphony Orchestra, association grants, youth center assignments, and the municipality's cultural guarantee for children and young people.
As Cultural Director, you represent the operational area in various forums and steering groups within the municipality and sometimes at regional and national levels. Collaboration with actors in civil society is central to the role.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
*About You*
We are looking for someone with a degree in culture or other qualifications that the employer deems relevant to the position.
You have several years of experience as a manager in the cultural sector, as well as extensive experience in supervising and following up on personnel, finance, and operations, including experience in continuous improvement.
You have previously worked in a politically governed organization and/or have expertise in running public-facing activities, both publicly funded and revenue-based.
You are responsive to the needs and conditions of civil society and work towards good and enabling collaboration with associations, study associations, and other actors.
You are confident in representing the organization externally and communicating with the media as necessary.
