WORK TASKS
As a Correctional Officer, You Will Be Part of a Team with Daily Client Contact. Tasks at Prisons/Remand Centers are Varied: Care, Supervision, Inspection, and Security Work Mixed with Release Planning and Counseling/Motivational Work. Remand Center Work is Often Routine-Driven and Focused on Care and Security Tasks. Clients May Be Detained for Extended Periods, Only Meeting Their Lawyer and Remand Center Staff, Which Places Special Demands on You as a Correctional Officer.

You'll Begin Your Employment with a Three-Week Introduction. After a Period of Service, You'll Be Offered a Place in the Mandatory Correctional Officer Basic Training, Lasting 8 Weeks, with Full Salary. Performance Assessments Will Be Conducted During the Probationary Period to Determine Potential for Permanent Employment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Personal Characteristics are Crucial. As a Correctional Officer, You Need to Be Confident, Stable, Have Good Self-Awareness, Sound Judgment, and Integrity. Working with Your Colleagues to Run the Facility, You Need Strong Collaboration Skills and Clear Communication. You Must Be Able to Act Physically When Required.
We're Seeking Candidates Who Have:
• Work Experience, Including Seasonal Work, Hourly Positions, or Self-Employment. Internships and Volunteer Work Are Not Equivalent to Employment
• Complete High School Education or Other Education Combined with Work Experience Deemed Relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Excellent Swedish Language Skills, Spoken and Written
• Good Computer Skills
Additional Merits Include:
• Work Experience in Corrections, Security, Social Care, Psychiatry, or Care Work
• Knowledge in Relevant Areas Such as Behavioral Science, Criminology, Psychiatry, Law, and Conflict Management
• Relevant Language Skills
