**JOB DESCRIPTION**
This advertisement is primarily aimed at those who are currently students or conscripts. Perhaps you are studying to become a police officer and wish to gain more practical knowledge in dealing with people, or you are studying criminology or a behavior-oriented program and want a deeper understanding of individuals? Secure a summer position now where you will have the opportunity to work hours before the summer, with the possibility of extension after the summer. The work is full-time during the summer.
Working as a correctional officer means you can make a difference for other people and contribute to a better society. To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the fundamental values of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service regarding a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and the belief that people can develop. This is a summer job that will provide you with lifelong experience.
Work at the remand facility is often routine-driven and focused on care and security tasks. Our detainees may be held for long periods without contact with anyone other than their lawyer and the facility staff. This places special demands on you as a correctional officer.
This position is for those seeking a varied security role. Together with your colleagues, you will carry out daily operations. Responsibilities include, among other things, monitoring, meal distribution, and searches, combined with isolation-breaking measures such as daily contact/conversations and motivational work with our detainees. Since some documentation is involved, it is important that you can express yourself well in writing.
You need to have good self-awareness, integrity, stability, the ability to apply clear communication, and share the values of the correctional service. The job may require you to intervene physically if the situation demands it to protect yourself, a colleague, or a detainee.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
The operations of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service run 24/7, year-round. You will work days, evenings, and weekends. Some schedules may include night shifts.
