About this role
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand centers, and client transportation.
The Norrköping operational area includes the Skenäs prison, located on Vikbolandet, and the remand center, situated in central Norrköping. As a correctional officer, you will be placed either at the prison or the remand center, depending on the needs.
The Skenäs prison will be upgraded from security class 3 to security class 2 in 2026, which will entail a significant focus on general security work. It will also house a care unit that includes both security, health, and medical work. The prison is located about 30 kilometers outside of Norrköping and is not accessible by public transport, which means a driver's license and access to a car are required.
