The Borås Operation Area Consists of Borås Detention Center and Borås Prison. The Detention Center is Part of the Police House in Central Borås, and the Prison is Located in the Västeråsen District. Construction of a New Detention Center Near Borås Central Station is Ongoing. We Are Now Seeking Hourly Temporary Staff, with Excellent Opportunities for Full-Time Summer Employment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Correctional Officer, You'll Work in a Team with Daily Client Contact. Prison Duties Are Varied: Care, Supervision, Inspection, and Security Work Mixed with Release Planning and Motivational Counseling. Detention Center Work is Often Routine-Based, Focusing on Care and Security Tasks. Clients May Be Detained for Extended Periods, Seeing Only Their Lawyer and Detention Center Staff, Which Places Special Demands on You as a Correctional Officer.

You'll Begin with a Three-Week Workplace Introduction, Working Full-Time During This Period. Afterwards, You'll Have Opportunities to Work as an Hourly Temporary Staff Member with Good Prospects for Full-Time Summer Employment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Personal Characteristics Are Crucial. As a Correctional Officer, You Need to Be Confident, Stable, with Good Self-Awareness, Judgment, and Integrity. You'll Drive the Operation with Colleagues, So Good Collaboration Skills and Clear Communication Are Essential. You Must Be Capable of Physical Action When Required.
We Seek Candidates Who Have:
• Work Experience, Including Seasonal Work, Hourly Positions, or Self-Employment
• Complete High School Education or Equivalent Combination of Education and Work Experience
• Excellent Swedish Language Skills (Spoken and Written)
• Good Computer Skills
Additional Merits Include:
• Experience in Corrections, Security, Social Care, Psychiatry, or Care Work
• Knowledge in Relevant Areas like Behavioral Science, Criminology, Psychiatry, Law, and Conflict Management
• Relevant Language Skills
• Class B Driver's License
