The Role of Costume Master and Dresser
As a Costume Master and Dresser, you will be an essential part of the costume workshop, which consists of four people. You will be responsible for several of the house's productions and have your own production responsibilities from planning to the completed performance. The work also includes ongoing maintenance of the workshop and costume storage.
The role includes being a dresser in productions that require it, which means evening and weekend work during performance periods. You may also need to participate in late fittings during pre-production and handle laundry on weekends for other productions. The work is characterized by collaboration, and the various functions of the workshop contribute collectively to a smooth production flow.
You are offered a permanent position starting January 1, 2026, or by agreement. The position is full-time, and we typically apply a six-month probationary period.

Cultural House Spira presents a varied program of music, theatre, musicals, and dance for children, youth, and adults in Jönköping County each year. Our activities include the Jönköping Sinfonietta and a permanent acting ensemble, along with our workshops for decor, masks, costumes, props, and attribute-making. We are looking for someone who wants to help develop the operations so that more children, youth, and adults in Jönköping County have the opportunity to experience cultural events that inspire and engage. Each year, around 500 events are held in the form of self-produced performances, guest performances, collaborations with the county's independent cultural practitioners, as well as rentals and conferences. Our mission is regional, and part of the operations takes place on tour throughout the county. Approximately 30 percent of the activities are specifically aimed at children and youth through Young Spira. Cultural House Spira is part of Region Jönköping County and is one of the units within Regional Development. The operations generate an annual turnover of about 132 million SEK and have approximately 100 employees.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with relevant education in tailoring and who is experienced in organization. Several years of experience in similar work is necessary. You are a creative and skilled craftsman with good material knowledge. As a person, you are structured and have a strong ability to work both independently and in a team. The work is project-based, where everyone contributes to completing a production, which places high demands on collaboration skills. You will also collaborate with the other manufacturing workshops at Cultural House Spira.
We see that you, as a person, have the ability to deliver solutions and take responsibility for your work. You have a holistic perspective within your area of work and prioritize the best interests of the production and the theatre when making decisions. You are confident and stable in your professional role. Good computer skills and a B driver's license are advantageous. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
