Knowledge Safety Joy Eriksdalsskolan is a Pre-K to 9th-grade school in Södermalm, with proximity to both the city's pulse and scenic areas. The school is buzzing with life, with approximately 1,000 students in Pre-K to 9th grade, of which around 60 students attend the adapted compulsory school. We have spacious and functional facilities, a fantastic schoolyard with access to an artificial turf field, ice-skating rink, and Eriksdal Swimming Pool in our local area. Eriksdalsskolan's Adapted Compulsory School is an establishment for students with intellectual disabilities, often in combination with additional disabilities (such as AST, physical mobility impairments, ADHD). Our facilities are adapted to receive students from all needs groups. Eriksdalsskolan's Adapted Compulsory School students are currently divided into 10 classes. Students study subjects and/or subject areas according to the curriculum for adapted compulsory school. Many students require a dedicated educator by their side throughout the entire day, both at school and in after-school activities. Students are taught both individually and in groups. We work from a clarifying pedagogical approach combined with other evidence-based methods to provide our students with the most favorable conditions for learning and development. The target group demands high pedagogical skills. Approximately 50 employees with diverse backgrounds, competencies, and experiences work at Eriksdalsskolan's Adapted Compulsory School. You have successfully worked with this student group previously. You have knowledge of students with neuropsychiatric functional variations and possess tools to create a good learning environment that is clear, predictable, positive, and strengthens the sense of context. You have experience working with a low-affective approach and care about maintaining good relationships with students. You should easily collaborate with colleagues and jointly plan the entire day for students based on the group's conditions. As a teaching assistant in an adapted compulsory school, you will be part of a team working together to develop the operation to make our school the best for our students. Qualifications We seek someone with experience as a teaching assistant in an adapted compulsory school, who wants and can build relationships with students, believes in each student reaching their full potential, and wants to promote their independence. You are professional, have good judgment, and can set boundaries. You are empathetic and use a low-affective approach when interacting with students. The work requires patience and the ability to adapt your communication and approach based on the situation. You are secure, trust-building, and understand the importance of being an adult role model. You can work independently and take initiative. In your interactions with students and guardians, you are clear and attentive to students' needs. You have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities and other functional variations is a requirement. Preference will be given to those with a certified nursing assistant education. Experience with tube feeding, EP, and outward-directed behaviors is a requirement.
