The Library About the Job In the autumn of 2025, SLU launched an initiative for student education, Studium Generale, aimed at enhancing students' education and capacity for reflection. This initiative involves establishing a program that produces and implements activities that benefit students' ability to reflect. The activities can cover everything from current societal phenomena to timeless questions and should, whenever possible, be developed and conducted in collaboration with students and staff at SLU. Program segments may be initiated by an invited guest, but the majority of the time will be dedicated to structured group reflection. As SLU is a bilingual university, activities will alternate between Swedish and English. We are now seeking a coordinator responsible for producing programs and activities within Studium Generale. Responsibilities: You will be responsible for the development of Studium Generale, which includes the following tasks: • Planning activities in collaboration with students and staff at SLU • Producing activities, including designing reflection components • Facilitating activities, primarily workshops • Liaising with partners both within and outside SLU • Ongoing quality monitoring from a student perspective • Coordinating activities with other stakeholders at SLU You will have the support of a loosely connected group of library staff from SLU's main locations in Alnarp, Ultuna, and Umeå. Qualifications: You should have experience in producing public events, such as lecture series, performances, or similar, from start to finish. You have a good sense of both form and content. Therefore, we require that you have: • Experience in event or educational planning • Experience in producing content for cultural and/or interdisciplinary events • A master's degree in relevant subjects for the position • Strong communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English Introducing a new concept at a Swedish institution can be facilitated by an understanding of the academic world. Since the focus is on reflection, it is advantageous if you have: • Experience working at an academic institution • Experience in producing educational or cultural content in collaboration with participants Personal Attributes: You are interested in societal issues, various cultural forms, and how other people think and function. You can also translate your interests into practical action. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is: • accustomed to working both independently and in a team • creative with a strong interest in learning new things • structured, quality-conscious, and responsible • skilled at creating and maintaining relationships.
