About this role

Nyköping About us Sörmland Museum is a regional museum operating throughout Sörmland. With a focus on cultural history, crafts, visual arts, and design, we aim to empower individuals to impact society and their own life situations. The museum’s Narrative Warehouse is at the center of our activities, alongside programs, education, exhibitions, web presentations, courses, and more. The mission of the Collections and Cultural History unit is to actively care for, develop, and make accessible the museum’s extensive collections, which include cultural-historical and archaeological objects, artworks, photographs, and archival materials. Your tasks As a temporary conservator, you will primarily work on the mounting and conservation of textiles for an exhibition about Princess Maria Pavlovna, as well as inspecting borrowed items and assisting during the installation of the exhibition. Additional responsibilities include Integrated Pest Management (IPM) work and dismantling exhibitions, as well as further conservation efforts as needed. Your qualifications - A degree in conservation or equivalent training - In-depth knowledge and experience working with textiles - Experience in practical conservation of objects - Experience with general collection management in a museum context - Experience working with object databases - Valid driver’s license (Category B) - At least 2 years of work experience as a conservator To thrive and succeed in this role, we see that you are organized and possess strong organizational skills.
