Head of Communications with Responsibility for Community Relations – Heidelberg Materials, Slite
Do you want to contribute to sustainable cement production in Sweden and foster good stakeholder collaboration? Heidelberg Materials Cement Sweden AB is seeking a Head of Communications with responsibility for community relations at our Slite facility.
Your Role
As Head of Communications, you will be the Slite factory's representative, reporting directly to the factory manager and playing a central role in the local management team. This is a new position where you will have the opportunity to help shape the content.
You will be responsible for our collaboration with local and national stakeholders and for internal and external communication in line with Heidelberg Materials' strategy. You will serve as the spokesperson to the public and media and manage our external partnerships.
You will lead our administrative team, currently working on communication, factory visits, trade shows, invoice management, restaurant, property, and sponsorship. The team consists of five employees and is led by an administrative manager.
You will work closely with Emma Sjöberg, Head of Communications Northern Europe, and Karin Comstedt Webb, Head of Public Affairs Northern Europe. The role involves full personnel and budget responsibility.
Primary Responsibilities
- Build and develop relationships with local and national actors, authorities, and organizations
- Represent the Slite factory in local forums, networks, and media
- Manage factory-wide internal and external communication, including local media contacts
- Actively contribute to the management team
Your Profile
We are seeking someone who combines communication expertise with social engagement and leadership. You thrive at the intersection of industry, politics, and society, and have the ability to build trust in all directions.
We believe you have:
- Relevant academic degree, e.g., in communications, economics, social sciences, or engineering
- At least 10 years of experience in strategic communication, public affairs, and media relations
- Leadership experience, preferably in a management role
- Good understanding of social processes, politics, and regional development
- Experience collaborating with various stakeholders inside and outside the organization
- Excellent Swedish and English, spoken and written
- Strong digital competence
