We are looking for someone who wants to drive and develop our communication efforts and can contribute as a project collaborator, for example through training sessions. Then you might be the person we are looking for. About the position As the Communications Manager at Malmö mot Diskriminering, you will be the hub of our external and internal communication efforts. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, producing, and streamlining our communication on social media, our website, and in newsletters. The role requires broad experience in communication, media relations, and the ability to work with both strategy and production. Since external training may be part of the role, we welcome candidates with experience or interest in rights-based work and education. At Malmö mot Diskriminering, you will have 8 colleagues; lawyers, educators/process leaders, project managers, and the operations manager. Our workdays are varied, with great opportunities to influence and contribute to both strategic and operational issues. Main responsibilities • Responsible for the organization's press and media work, including media contacts, press releases, and handling press inquiries. • Strategic and operational responsibility for digital communication: social media, website, and newsletters. • Production and adaptation of content for different target groups and channels (e.g., press releases, opinion articles, webinars, design of our own materials and advertisements). • Coordination of advocacy work and responsibility for specific initiatives such as parliamentary seminars and campaigns. • Follow up, streamline, and develop Malmö mot Diskriminering's communication efforts across various channels and contribute to achieving our strategic goals. • Conduct environmental monitoring and analyze the need for development in our communication channels. • Responsible for Malmö mot Diskriminering's graphic identity. • Participate in project work through meetings, planning, and tasks such as conducting training sessions and discussions with the project's target group. Who are you? Qualifications necessary for the position • Education in media and communication, journalism, social sciences, or a similar background. • Good experience in media relations and contact with the press. • Strategic mindset but equally comfortable with operational work. • Relationship-building skills and confident in representing the organization externally. • Excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English. • Experience in coordinating communication efforts and producing audience-specific content. • Experience or interest in discrimination and equality issues. • Experience or interest in education. • Experience working with Adobe programs (InDesign and Photoshop) and WordPress. Desirable qualifications • Experience working (voluntarily or professionally) in a non-profit organization. • Experience in PR work and agency work. • Experience in working with accessibility and communicating complex issues simply. • Experience in project work. • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Arabic, Somali, Dari, or Kurdish. • Knowledge of sign language. Employment conditions Permanent full-time position with a start date as soon as possible. Malmö mot Diskriminering applies a 6-month probationary period and individual salary setting with a salary level adapted for the non-profit sector. Malmö mot Diskriminering has a collective agreement through Fremia. About Malmö mot Diskriminering Malmö mot Diskriminering is a non-profit association and one of Sweden's 18 anti-discrimination agencies that has grown from an initiative of ten associations since its inception in 2010 to an organization with 53 member associations. Malmö mot Diskriminering offers free legal advice for individuals living in southern and southeastern Skåne. We collaborate with civil society, the public sector, and businesses to combat discrimination and strengthen equal rights for all. Through education and process management, we help companies and organizations implement active measures and social sustainability in practice. We take on legal cases that not only assist individual individuals but can also impact society as a whole. In parallel with pursuing discrimination cases, we also create public awareness to highlight systemic shortcomings and drive change for increased access to justice in cases of discrimination. As an anti-discrimination agency, our mission is governed by the Regulation on State Support for Activities that Prevent and Combat Discrimination (2002:989).
