About this role
At the Swedish Work Environment Authority, we work together to ensure that no one becomes ill, is injured, or dies as a result of work. Therefore, we assist employers in meeting existing requirements and inform them on how to make work environment efforts a natural part of everyday life. Based on the Work Environment Act, we develop regulations, inspect workplaces, and disseminate knowledge about work environment issues. Our mission is serious, but our daily work is characterized by joy and we are caring and helpful colleagues.
Your new job
You will join us at an exciting time as we develop and expand our work, including how we approach communication. At the turn of the year, we will undergo a reorganization of the authority, which includes the Swedish Agency for Work Environment Knowledge becoming part of the Swedish Work Environment Authority. Together, we are deeply committed to improving the work environment for everyone in Sweden, and communication is a vital function to help us achieve our goals and our vision that no one should become ill, be injured, or die as a result of work.
With us, you will work both strategically and operationally with internal and external communication. Key tasks include analyzing issues, prioritizing target groups, developing messages, selecting channels, and tailoring content to communicate effectively. You will collaborate with knowledgeable colleagues both within and outside the department. You will have a particular responsibility to work with experts to develop and subsequently communicate research reports on work environment issues.
In the communications unit, you will work alongside approximately 30 communicators. The Head of Communications is part of the authority's management team. You will be part of the communication planning section, which is one of three sections within the unit.
Your background
The role requires that you have:
• A university or college degree in communication
• At least three years of current experience in both external and internal communication
• Current experience in translating complex issues into effective communication for various target groups through appropriate communication channels
• Current experience working with researchers and communicating research reports
• Experience in developing and anchoring communication plans
• Very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
It is advantageous if you also have:
• Experience in project communication
• Experience in evaluating communication efforts
• Experience from working in a government agency.
You have the ability to work independently and take initiative. You are accustomed to driving communication efforts based on organizational goals and can switch between strategic planning and practical implementation. You are confident in your professional role and possess excellent collaboration skills. In the selection process, we will place great emphasis on your personal suitability.
An employment with us may require the position to be classified in a security category. Security clearance with or without a background check may therefore be conducted prior to the hiring decision. For some of our tasks in security categories, Swedish citizenship is required. Security clearance is conducted according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

The position is a fixed-term employment for 11 months on a full-time basis, with a desired start date of January 1. The location is at our office in Solna or Gävle. We apply individual salary setting.
