Communications Specialist

Blekinge Air Wing is seeking a communicator for the wing management Do you want to help develop communication in a rapidly expanding part of the Armed Forces? Blekinge Air Wing is now looking for a skilled and driven communicator with a strong sense of visual communication. Our operations are growing quickly - in tasks, scope, and visibility - and therefore we need to strengthen our team. The position is based in Ronneby, and you will be a key person in the effort to highlight the wing's role, both locally, nationally, and in an increasingly international context. About the unit Blekinge Air Wing, F 17, is a growing entity within the Armed Forces responsible for combat aviation, base units, and support functions. We operate around the clock, year-round, to maintain and develop Sweden's defense capability. The communication function at the wing consists of a small but dedicated team. In the role of communicator, you will be part of the wing management and report to the wing's communication manager. Main responsibilities • Produce content in the form of texts, still images, and video material for the wing's and Air Force's internal and external channels. • Support the wing commander and other leaders in communication efforts. • Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of communication activities. • The role also includes some media management. Qualifications: • Post-secondary education in communication, journalism, or equivalent as assessed by the employer. • Excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish, as well as the ability to tailor texts and posts for different target audiences. • At least 1 year of professional experience in communication work, such as a communicator, journalist, or editor. • Good ability to independently drive tasks. • Valid driver's license B (manual transmission). Meritorious: • Experience working within the Armed Forces or other public sector organizations. • Good knowledge and professional experience in photography and videography. • Good knowledge and professional experience with relevant programs such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro/Final Cut. • Knowledge of working with digital channels. • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in English. Personal qualities We are looking for someone with good judgment, who is unpretentious, collaborative, and self-assured. You are structured and can work independently. You must be able to handle periods of high workload and meet deadlines. You have high integrity and feel comfortable working closely with management and leaders. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Other The position is civilian and permanent, with a probationary period applied. The location is Ronneby. A security clearance with a background check will be conducted prior to employment in accordance with the Security Protection Act. Swedish citizenship is a requirement. The fighter squadrons play an important role in protecting Sweden's airspace, known as incident readiness. The base unit is the largest combat unit that contains everything needed to get Gripen aircraft airborne. This includes maintenance of the aircraft, protection of the base, logistics, and operation of the airfield. The wing also trains the Air Force's only reconnaissance unit, the airbase reconnaissance soldiers. Their tasks include gathering information through reconnaissance and protecting the personnel and vehicles of the air combat forces.
