JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a newly established position. You are expected to contribute knowledge and conduct investigations for the municipality's community planning, climate adaptation, and biodiversity management.
This can be achieved by working with ecologically sustainable solutions such as creating green infrastructure, mapping areas with high natural values, establishing management plans, assisting in the work with nature and cultural reserves, working on wetland restoration and strategies against invasive species, as well as providing advice on land and water use. You may also contribute to designing ecological compensation and promoting reduced climate impact.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a university degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, landscape architecture, or equivalent.
You have previous work experience in:
Fieldwork and inventories: Experience in planning, conducting, and analyzing field inventories of species and natural types.
Natural value assessments: Ability to conduct natural value assessments.
Regulatory authority: Experience working within a politically governed organization, case management, processing applications, and responding to consultations.
Environmental law and planning legislation: Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including the Environmental Code and the Planning and Building Act.
Climate change: Experience analyzing how climate change affects local ecosystems.
• Desirable experiences:
GIS knowledge: Experience working with GIS (Geographic Information Systems).
Project management: Experience in applying for project funding, leading projects, for example, in wetland or water conservation work.
As a person, you have a strong ability to communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders, such as the public, landowners, politicians, and other organizations. You possess strong analytical skills and can quickly familiarize yourself with new issues, analyze data, and assess the consequences of various actions. You are proactive and resourceful, working independently and taking the initiative to advance conservation issues, even when interests conflict.
You have a genuine commitment to nature, the environment, and sustainable development, and you are solution-focused with the ability to manage conflicts of interest and find sustainable compromises. Furthermore, you work in a structured and meticulous manner, ensuring high quality in documentation and processing to secure legally sound decisions.
