Would you like to help shape the future of church life in the heart of Småland? Växjö Cathedral is now seeking an assistant pastor who wants to contribute to a vibrant cathedral with a rich worship life, volunteer engagement, and opportunities for deepening faith.
Växjö is a rapidly growing city, home to many students at Linnaeus University – many of whom are international and curious about Christian contexts. We aim to reach people of all ages, but we see a particular need to find new ways to meet and engage young people, in addition to the important confirmation work.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is confident in the pastoral role and enjoys the diversity of life in and around a cathedral, which encompasses a wide range of people and liturgical expressions. You have the ability to switch between intimate, low-key conversations and larger liturgical contexts, maintain an open attitude, and feel comfortable representing the breadth of traditions within the Church of Sweden. You possess a good ability to express yourself in more than one language besides Swedish and wish to create meeting places characterized by diversity, participation, and the development of the church's mission in our time.
