Read more about the Malmö Detention Center's operations on our website: https://www.kriminalvarden.se/contact/find-and-contact/operations/detention/malmo/#operations JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a chef, you will primarily prepare meals for detainees at the detention center, as well as for staff. Tasks include all typical tasks in a large kitchen such as planning, purchasing, preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, and evening meals. At the Malmö Detention Center, you will prepare approximately 200 portions per meal daily. Job responsibilities also include cleaning kitchen facilities, dishwashing, and self-monitoring in accordance with applicable legislation. Preparing dietary and special meals is also required. As a chef, you will work in a team that collaborates with personnel in other functions at the detention center. Staff work on a periodic schedule that includes weekend shifts. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking someone who is confident, stable, and self-aware. You are calm and controlled in stressful situations and collaborate well with others. You have good judgment and take responsibility for your tasks. We are looking for someone who has: • Restaurant or large-scale catering education at high school level, or other education combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant • Experience working as a chef • Experience working with special diets • Ability to express yourself well verbally and in writing in Swedish • Knowledge and experience with food hygiene and self-monitoring in accordance with applicable legislation Additional merits include: • Experience working in large-scale kitchens • Experience with self-monitoring • Familiarity with the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's ordering system • B driver's license To thrive and succeed in your assignment, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and belief in human development.
