About this role
We are seeking an experienced and self-driven chef who is accustomed to getting things done in all aspects. For the right person, this is a very flexible and great job. Some evenings you'll work independently and others alongside our head chef. We have a fairly good understanding of how evenings will look, making planning and avoiding stress relatively easy. Our ambition is to develop our food offerings and find more items that suit us. New energy is warmly welcome.
Ugglan is an adult recreation center offering a range of activities: shuffleboard, boules, ping pong, pinball, billiards, air hockey, foosball, etc. Our guests come to have fun, and they do. After playing, they want to eat, and eat well. The kitchen produces lots of food, and we have full, satisfied guests.
It's fun to work at Ugglan - the place is popular and always bustling with activity. And there's a great atmosphere among the staff (who appreciate good staff meals).
We have two types of guests: walk-ins who order burgers, pizza slices, chilis, milkshakes, etc., and pre-booked groups enjoying Ugglan's Taco Buffet. People eat heartily from the Taco Buffet, which is well-prepared with heaped plates, such as sauces and salsas made in-house, which is highly appreciated. If you like full speed and food feedback, you've come to the right place.
The ambition is to develop our food offerings. The kitchen needs renovation, with plans to do so this summer. Your opinions on design are, of course, important.
Work week: Tuesday – Saturday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, with the possibility of some free Saturdays (or other evenings).
Summer vacation when we close after Midsummer and reopen in August. Ugglan is a winter venue with a good autumn and steady season after New Year's. After 32 years, Ugglan is well-established and has been running steadily since the pandemic, doing well with everything in order.
We are open to discussing salary. If you're the right person, we'll come to an agreement. Start date in January or possibly earlier.
