About the Job
You will work in one or more of our units, typically performing tasks assigned to a clinical veterinarian.
With us, you will work evidence-based and have access to modern equipment. We provide an introduction so that you feel confident working with us as a substitute. During your employment, you will have experienced staff supporting you.
During your temporary position, you may also supervise both veterinary and veterinary nursing students.
All staff in the small animal department work under a roster agreement, which means that work can be scheduled at any time of day or night.
Your Background
We are looking for a licensed veterinarian, acting veterinarian, or a fifth-year student who has achieved passing results and a temporary veterinary permit from the Swedish Board of Agriculture for the summer. Clinical experience from working in an animal hospital is advantageous. You express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish.
You enjoy interacting with pet owners in various situations and recognize the importance of maintaining good customer relationships. You are communicative and have a strong ability to build and maintain good relationships with colleagues. You are interested in participating in efforts to create favorable conditions for education and research. You understand that a dynamic work environment is something you can manage. Your approach is scientific, with an interest in evidence-based care.
As a person, you are structured, can handle occasionally stressful situations, possess good self-awareness, and have a desire to contribute to the organization. In this recruitment, we will place great importance on your personal skills.
About Us
The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for basic education, research, and doctoral education in anesthesiology, imaging diagnostics, animal care, epidemiology, laboratory animal science, surgery, clinical chemistry, medicine, and reproduction. Our activities span all animal species within these subjects.
At SLU University Animal Hospital (UDS), education, research, and advanced veterinary care go hand in hand. We train tomorrow's veterinarians and veterinary nurses while providing exceptional care to companion animals, competition animals, and production animals. We also disseminate knowledge to the public. By combining established knowledge with the latest research findings, we develop the future of veterinary care.
Under one roof, we offer healthcare for horses, dogs, cats, and other small animals. In addition to modern facility-adapted premises, we have access to advanced imaging diagnostics and a veterinary medical specialist laboratory.
