Länsstyrelsen Skåne is a regional government agency responsible for state administration in the county. We work to ensure that national goals are implemented regionally. Within our assignments, we provide advisory services, permits and supervision, as well as develop plans and strategies. We manage natural areas and distribute financial support. We collaborate with actors across the county. We have approximately 600 employees with offices in Malmö and Kristianstad. Description Länsstyrelsen is recruiting a Climate and Energy Strategist for the Climate and Energy Unit at the Environmental Protection Department. Your workplace will be at our office in Malmö. We offer the possibility of remote work. This is a permanent position with a six-month probationary period. The Climate and Energy Unit works based on the government's mandate to lead and coordinate regional implementation of energy and climate policy by developing regional energy planning and promoting climate actions. Current assignments include: - Leading and coordinating the implementation of the Climate and Energy Strategy for Skåne 2025-2030 - Implementing the Regional Electrification Action Plan - Supporting local and regional actors with energy planning and climate actions - Managing the Climate Steps investment support To fulfill our mandate, we work strategically and in externally funded projects to scale up our work. We participate in Skåne's Power Commission together with actors to bridge electrification challenges. We work on issues related to energy production and distribution. Collaboration, both internally and externally with various actors, is a crucial part of our mission. Job Responsibilities As a Climate and Energy Strategist, you will work with others in the same role to strategically implement the government's mandate. Tasks include administrative and planning work, participating in internal and external meetings, and communicating with various stakeholders. Working on and seeking externally funded projects may be relevant. Handling Climate Steps cases will be a significant part of the assignment. Qualifications Länsstyrelsen seeks employees with diverse characteristics, conditions, and life experiences. We are looking for someone with a natural science, technical, or interdisciplinary university degree at the bachelor's level or higher, preferably with a focus on environment and/or climate and energy. You should have excellent Swedish and English skills in both spoken and written communication. You should be proficient in the Office suite. Experience handling Climate Steps cases is advantageous. Additionally, experience with strategic work related to electrification is meriting. You need to be thorough, analytical, and structured. You should be able to work both independently and in a group, with a focus on cooperation rather than competition. We seek someone with high social competence and excellent communication skills, experienced in interacting with people and speaking in groups. This is because you will be expected to represent Länsstyrelsen externally in various contexts. You are a team player who contributes to a pleasant work environment. Selection Process Once the selection is made, we will invite selected candidates to a speed interview via Skype. If you progress from the speed interview to a second interview, we will meet in person. Before the second interview, candidates will receive a case to present during the interview. Security Classification Länsstyrelsen plays a crucial role in coordinating societal disruptions, so we have high requirements for our employees' security and confidentiality awareness.
