About this role

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport. Åby Prison is an open facility located in a picturesque environment in Gunsta, just outside Uppsala. The prison accommodates 60 male clients. Inmates are offered employment opportunities in simple woodworking, kitchen work, outdoor labor, service tasks, as well as studies and program interventions. The facility currently has 45 employees who work together to ensure community safety and reduce recidivism. The work involves investigation, preparation for decision-making, and some decision-making in accordance with applicable regulations. Together with the probation inspector, you will maintain and develop the legal work and participate in legal forums. The client case officer is also responsible for mentoring probation officers in their role as contact persons, as well as for quality assurance of clients' enforcement plans. **QUALIFICATIONS** To succeed in the role of client case officer, it is important that you have a structured and organized approach to your work. You plan and execute your tasks efficiently, even under high workloads or temporary assignments. You are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances, seeing opportunities in changes. As a person, you are secure, stable, and able to distinguish between personal and professional matters. It is important for you to always act in accordance with decisions made, policies, and guidelines. You are pedagogical and have a clear communication style, adapting the way you convey information to the recipient to ensure your message is understood. We place great importance on personal suitability. **Requirements:** - Experience in case handling within state, municipality, or county council - Ability to express oneself well in spoken and written Swedish - Good computer skills - Academic degree (e.g., law, social work, social sciences) or other education combined with relevant work experience deemed suitable by the employer **Meritorious:** - Experience in case handling within the correctional system - Good knowledge of administrative law - Relevant language skills **OTHER INFORMATION** The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to remove the personal letter requirement and replaced it with selection questions relevant to the position.
