School Description
Myranskolan has approximately 150 students from preschool to grade 6, as well as an after-school care department. The school is located in Koskullskulle. Myranskolan employs a teaching-responsible teacher and a class mentor who primarily works on the social aspects of the curriculum in each class from grades 1-6. The after-school care program complements the school by developing students' abilities through various forms of expression and based on their interests. The school also has a special education teacher, school counselor, and school nurse who collaborate as a team for the students' best interests.
Job Responsibilities
As a class mentor, you will follow a class from grades 1-6 throughout the day and work together with teachers to create safety, well-being, and study peace. You will be an active resource in the classroom and after-school care, and you will also be responsible for recess supervision and activities. You will maintain contact with guardians regarding social issues and share responsibility with teachers for documentation related to norms and values. The role includes covering for staff absences at the school and after-school care. Your work will involve responsibilities in the after-school care program, both before and after school hours.
Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma, education in children and/or leisure, activity leader in after-school care, or other education deemed equivalent/relevant by the employer. Experience in creating safety, understanding the school's core values, and implementing norms. Experience in schools, after-school care, or other settings where you have led children's groups is meritorious. You should have strong social skills, be self-motivated, initiative-taking, responsible, and demonstrate good interaction with colleagues, students, and guardians. We seek someone with excellent communication skills and proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Strong emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
A police background check is required.
Within the framework of the National Minority Language Act, Gällivare Municipality is an administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.
Work Time/Duration
Full-time, permanent position. Probationary employment may be applied.
