The Property Office manages and develops a unique property portfolio that is important for the residents, businesses, and visitors of Stockholm. The property portfolio includes everything from well-known Stockholm buildings to public facilities for culture and sports, office buildings, fire stations, food markets, castles, farms, and cottages. We also manage natural and outdoor areas outside the city limits. Our office is located in the Tekniska Nämndhuset at Fleminggatan 4, about a 5-minute walk from Central Station.

The mission of the Project Department is to execute larger and smaller construction projects within the office's property portfolio.
The annual project volume is approximately 3 billion SEK. Many projects span several years and take place in some of the city's most famous buildings, such as the City Hall and the Culture House, Liljevalchs, Ă–stermalmshallen, and Medborgarhuset. The department is responsible for the implementation of all ongoing projects, both in terms of investments and planned maintenance, ensuring that the execution is optimized based on time, cost, and quality. The department is organized into three units: Project Unit 1 to 3 and a Project Support Unit.
We are now seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to join our Project Support Unit.

Your role
The role of Cost Engineer is a newly established position within our organization, where you will have the opportunity to shape the role and its content from the ground up. As a Cost Engineer, you will act as a support function to our project managers and unit managers within the project unit, as well as cross-functionally with other departments in the Property Office, such as technical managers and the operations unit.
As a Cost Engineer, you will work on quality assurance of cost estimates and production calculations from our framework consultants and contractors, reviewing and analyzing these, and assessing their reasonableness and risks.
A significant part of your work will focus on quality assurance of our estimates. You will also contribute your expertise by working on cost tracking, including improving and developing our work with key performance indicators.
Your qualifications and experience
For this role, you are required to have:
- A university degree in construction and civil engineering or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Several years of experience as a cost estimator/cost engineer in the real estate/construction industry.
- Experience in quality assurance of estimates.
- Experience in preparing cost estimates for various types of projects.
- Very good knowledge of the different stages of the construction process from investigation/feasibility study, through design and production, to final completion.
Meritorious:
- Experience in working with climate calculations.
- Experience in working with key performance indicators.
