Estimator in the Construction Industry

About the Position We are currently seeking a cost estimator with significant experience (at least 5 years) in the construction industry for one of our clients in Stockholm. The workplace is located in Liljeholmen in central Stockholm. As a cost estimator, your responsibilities will include creating detailed estimates for construction and civil engineering projects, which involves calculating costs for materials, labor, and time. The role includes evaluating and presenting results to ensure the profitability and quality of the projects. A background in construction engineering is required, and strong skills in estimating software and MS Excel are essential. Responsibilities - Create Estimates: Develop foundational estimates for various projects, which may include calculating material usage, time requirements, and personnel costs. - Evaluate and Present: Be responsible for the follow-up and evaluation of estimates and present the results to project managers. - Manage Bids: Respond to incoming inquiries and prepare complete bids, often in collaboration with suppliers, clients, and colleagues. - Legal and Contracts: Work with construction law and have a good understanding of administrative requirements in tender documents and contracts, such as AMA AF. - Interpret Drawings: Read and interpret drawings and technical descriptions. Qualifications - Education and Experience: A relevant engineering degree or equivalent documented experience in the construction industry is required. Experience as a cost estimator, site manager, or foreman is advantageous. - Technical Knowledge: Good knowledge of construction technology, materials, quality, and environmental considerations. - Software: Excellent skills in relevant estimating software and MS Excel are necessary. - Personal Attributes: Structured, analytical, and business-minded with the ability to find cost-effective solutions. - Language: Proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is required. Our client offers a pleasant workplace with skilled colleagues at Liljeholmskajen in Stockholm. Construction projects are located throughout Sweden, and you will receive a fixed monthly salary and also be part of the client's bonus program. Working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday, but some work may occur at other times related to project deadlines. This is a recruitment process, meaning you will be directly employed by our client with a 6-month probationary period to start with.
