Västra Götalandsregionen, which is Sweden's largest adult education provider, manages six folk high schools: Billströmska, Dalsland, Fristad, Grebbestad, Göteborg, and Vara. We conduct education and popular education by allowing participants to take general courses to gain qualifications for higher studies or specialized courses where they can delve into a specific area. There are about thirty longer courses to choose from. At most of our schools, we also run various projects for people who are outside the labor market. Folk High School in Vara was founded in 1915 and has been operating in its current premises since 1935. Currently, we offer general courses at the elementary and secondary school levels, leisure leader training, radio journalism training, Swedish for immigrants (SFI), and a continuing education course for individuals with disabilities. We have a boarding facility where participants can rent rooms, as well as a comprehensive course and conference operation. The folk high school has a branch in Mariestad where we offer general courses at the elementary and secondary school levels, as well as a study-motivating folk high school course. The school has approximately 160 participants in long courses. **Description and Responsibilities** We offer you a workplace where you will play a vital role in preparing and serving delicious, safe, and healthy meals for our participants and guests. Every day, about 45 lunches are served, and on certain occasions when we have course and conference guests, up to 150 lunches may be served. The kitchen team consists of 4 people responsible for breakfast, snacks, lunch, and guest service. The position may require weekend work and could also involve early evening shifts. **Qualifications** You have a high school education in restaurant and food management or a similar field. Additionally, we expect you to have a few years of experience in the profession. You can communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. You possess the physical ability required to walk and stand throughout the workday, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks. You participate in all tasks that occur in a small kitchen. You are a positive person who enjoys meeting people, have good teamwork skills, enjoy providing service, and want to contribute to the development of the team and the operation. **Conditions** Temporary position at 50% until June 30, 2026.
