We are now seeking a Kitchen Manager for Meals and Local Care at Lidköping Municipality. About the Job The Meals and Local Care service is Lidköping Municipality's organization responsible for all meals within preschools, schools, high schools, and elderly care, as well as all local care services within the municipality's operations. We prepare approximately 9,500 meals daily and clean nearly 250,000 square meters throughout the municipality. We have around 220 employees in total. Do you want to help create meals that make a difference every day? We are now looking for a dedicated and responsible kitchen manager for Björkhaga. As the kitchen manager at Björkhaga, you will have the opportunity to make a difference every day for everyone from our youngest to our oldest guests, as the kitchen prepares meals for both the preschool, the elderly home, and the meeting place. In this role, you will have significant opportunities to influence and develop both the daily work in the kitchen and across our organization by participating in various development and working groups. Lidköping Municipality believes that meals should be an important and natural part of the day that contributes to both joy and energy. Responsibilities As the kitchen manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations in the kitchen, including planning, preparation, and serving nutritious and delicious meals according to our guidelines, as well as self-monitoring, dishwashing, cleaning, development, and follow-up. You will work closely with your colleagues to create a pleasant workplace and collaborate with other staff in the operations to foster comfort and well-being for our guests through meals. In your role as kitchen manager, you may also receive interns and apprentices as needed. Who Are You? We expect you to have a three-year upper secondary education, training in large-scale kitchen and cooking, or equivalent experience, and have worked for at least five years as a chef. You have good knowledge of various special diets. If you have experience working in large-scale kitchens in the public sector, we consider it an asset. Experience with various digital systems related to kitchens and meals is also advantageous, as increased digitalization is one of the municipality's goals. We use, among other things, the Matilda dietary system, digital self-monitoring, and RainDance. You must be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. You have a valid driver's license (B category). We want you to be service-oriented and resilient under stress, with good collaboration and communication skills. You should be able to perform tasks independently, take initiative, and be flexible, while also delegating when necessary to involve your colleagues. Personal suitability is of great importance. Other Information The position is currently as kitchen manager based in the kitchen at Björkhaga, but your employment is within the entire Meals and Local Care department. The employment is a permanent position, and working hours are currently scheduled Monday to Friday, according to a set schedule. We offer flexible hours and wellness benefits.
