Would you like to contribute to SMHI's vision of a viable and secure society? We are now seeking lawyers for our legal function, where you will have the opportunity to work in SMHI's multifaceted operations.
SMHI has a broad mandate that encompasses business operations, research, and serving as an administrative authority within meteorology, climatology, hydrology, and oceanography.
The Management and Business Support Department consists of six units striving to provide efficient and clear support to the organization and management. One of these is the Legal and Information Management unit, which includes legal functions as well as archives and registry. We are now seeking one to two additional lawyers for the legal function.
About the Position
As a lawyer at SMHI, you will work on legal advisory, review, and training within the authority's area of responsibility. Contract review and providing support in security protection and confidentiality matters are key parts of the assignment. Procurement, property, and environmental law are examples of other areas that may be relevant. There are good opportunities to develop and broaden your expertise in new legal domains.
The position may involve placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship and an approved security screening with register check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) are prerequisites for employment in such cases.
About You
You have a master's degree in law or business law, or equivalent experience, with good knowledge of Swedish law.
The following are particularly meritorious:
• Broad generalist competence in relevant areas
• Relevant experience in contract review and negotiation, such as research and business agreements
• Previous work with assessments and advisory services regarding public access and confidentiality issues
Additional meritorious experience includes previous work with:
• Environmental law
• Property law
• Procurement law
• Data protection issues
• Security and security protection matters
We are seeking someone with initiative, good judgment, and the ability to create respectful and positive relationships. It is important that you can work independently and drive your cases forward. Furthermore, you must be able to communicate the content of applicable laws and regulations in a pedagogical manner. You should be articulate in speech and writing in both Swedish and English and have good skills in MS Office.
