We are currently seeking junior engineers who want to help shape the future of air defense systems. With us, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and varied projects that span the entire lifecycle of the systems – from new construction to modification and maintenance.
About the position
As a systems engineer, you will participate in one of our ongoing projects that require various areas of expertise, where you will collaborate with other project members to achieve the project's goals. You will be involved in configuration changes as well as verification and validation work. You will support the project manager in their responsibility to carry out procurement/maintenance. You will also participate in meetings and preparations for deliveries, both internally within the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and externally with suppliers and the Armed Forces. FMV's primary task is to set requirements, review, and verify deliveries.
The position of systems engineer may be combined with other tasks within the air defense unit, and the responsibilities may change during the course of the projects. There are also good opportunities for employees to deepen their knowledge of specific systems through various internal training programs.
The position is located in Halmstad, and travel within Sweden and abroad is a natural part of the job.
About you
We are looking for candidates with a degree in engineering (civil or university) or other relevant education in the field, or alternatively, other relevant competencies acquired in other ways that we consider equivalent. To succeed in this role, you need to have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English, as well as a valid driver's license (B).
Experience working with technical systems, air defense systems, or previous participation in project work is an advantage.
Personal qualities are very important to us. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences and are looking for someone who is self-driven, persistent, and structured. You have good collaboration skills and contribute to driving the work forward in a constructive manner.
FMV – Swedish Defence Materiel Administration
At FMV, you contribute to making Sweden and the world safer. We are tasked with providing the Swedish Armed Forces with the latest technology and knowledge so they can defend our country and our allies. You will work in our Army Materiel business area, which is responsible for technology and services used by the Army and Home Guard, such as vehicles, weapons, protection, and air defense. An air defense system consists of sensors for detection, identification, and classification, communication and command systems for decision-making and information transfer, as well as effect systems for combat. In the air defense unit, we have sections whose projects build complete air defense systems.
At FMV, you are offered secure employment with good benefits:
• Professional development and career opportunities
• Flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work as the job allows
