State Institutions Board (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial problems and adults with substance abuse. Job Description Johannisberg Youth Home, Sävast unit (Säfeskolan) is seeking a Special Education Teacher/Specialist Teacher. SIS Youth Home Johannisberg consists of two units, one in Kalix and one in Boden/Sävast. In Kalix, the mission is to execute closed youth care for high school-aged youth, and in Boden/Sävast, compulsory care for primary school-aged youth. More information at www.stat-inst.se The school within SiS is governed by largely the same laws and regulations as the rest of the school world and is crucial for the future of the youth in care. Therefore, SiS in general and Johannisberg in particular invest in developing school activities. The school at Johannisberg is central to the operation, and school/education is considered the best protective factor for youth. Säfeskolan provides instruction at the primary school level. Students at Säfeskolan are taught according to a fixed schedule. Instruction occurs in small groups or individually. As a teacher, you have both time and opportunity to meet students where they are and provide the support and help they need. Your role as a Special Education Teacher/Specialist Teacher is to mentor/support teachers at the Sävast unit, be responsible for and write pedagogical assessments, participate and be an active party in meetings with social services and department collegial meetings, etc. The work also involves responsibility for SiSam work (Collaboration for Uninterrupted Schooling - SiS - State Institutions Board) and student schedules. Some teaching may occur. The work requires close collaboration with Johannisberg's principal (principal for both Kalix and Sävast units). You will have a colleague with a corresponding role at the Kalix unit. The position is 100% full-time. In addition to formal competence, you should be flexible and have broad social skills.
