The Support Unit at the IT and Digitalization Department of Malmö City is seeking IT Technicians to join our service desk. Our mission is to deliver reliable and accessible IT support to all employees in Malmö City. As part of our team, you will contribute to a smooth and efficient IT environment for our colleagues in the city.

1st-line support is the first point of contact with the IT and Digitalization Department, and your professional demeanor and high-quality service contribute to the client's overall experience of the organization. This role is crucial in building trust in our IT support and facilitating daily digital interactions for employees in Malmö City. The position is designed to ensure that every interaction is perceived as helpful, secure, and effective.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming inquiries with a friendly and service-oriented approach.
  • Register, categorize, prioritize, and document clearly and accurately in our case management system.
  • Cases not resolved in 1st-line support should be escalated to 2nd-line, containing clear and necessary documentation for further handling.
  • Ensure that clients are informed about the handling of their cases in a solution-focused and pedagogical manner, providing high-quality customer service that meets Malmö City's expectations.

Requirements

  • Relevant KY education or another qualification at least at the high school level with a technical focus, combined with experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Previous work experience in customer support for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Strong understanding of the digital workplace with the ability to solve IT-related problems and a keen interest in troubleshooting and addressing IT-related issues.
  • Proficient communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good proficiency in English, both conversational and written.

Desirable

  • Work experience from the public sector or large complex organizations.

Since you will be in a customer-supporting function, it is essential that you thrive in a social context, where you also have the ability to be outgoing and build good contacts and relationships. In this role, you will work on solving and analyzing problems, which requires you to have strong analytical problem-solving skills. Furthermore, we believe it is crucial for you to be self-motivated, able to take responsibility for your tasks and structure and drive processes forward. You are organized and capable of prioritizing your tasks to meet established deadlines. As an IT Technician, you will need to demonstrate an understanding of individual differences in people's ability to absorb information, necessitating the capacity to adapt your communication style to convey messages in a way that is instructive for the receiver.

At Malmö City's IT and Digitalization Department, we work with people, technology, and behaviors to develop and deliver digital solutions. We are IT and digitalization professionals who, with our deep technical expertise, strive to understand and meet the digitalization needs of Malmö residents and employees. Together, we are about 120 colleagues, tasked with delivering joint city services to all departments.

We are located in new modern premises at Kungsgatan 6 in the heart of Malmö.
