Job Responsibilities
You will perform tasks that include support via phone, through a ticketing system, and welcoming visitors at our reception desk in KTH Entré.
Support is provided by guiding users towards a solution in a pedagogical manner via phone or email, as well as through remote access to their computers or during a meeting at the reception desk in KTH Entré.
You will also be responsible for keeping documentation updated to support troubleshooting or administration in the systems.
As KTH has many international students and researchers, it is important that you express yourself well in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
About the Department/Group
KTH's IT department is part of KTH's operational support and consists of around 150 employees. We develop and manage the IT environment within education, research, and the administrative platform at KTH, an IT environment that is both complex and multifaceted. The department's ambition is to be an attractive workplace with a good working environment characterized by openness and good opportunities for development for all employees, regardless of identity expression, background, or age.
The IT department's User Support unit offers audio/video, telecommunication, and IT-related user support to both employees and students at KTH. User support is provided via phone, email, and in-person visits at the reception desk.
Central IT Support is one of five organizational groups within the User Support unit and offers support via the ticketing system, phone, and at the reception desk. The group primarily provides first-line support to students and employees at KTH, where most issues are resolved at the first point of contact.
Qualifications
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Good experience working in a Service Desk and performing independent work
- Experience working with ticketing systems
- Experience in phone support
- At least 2 years of documented experience in similar tasks
- Good knowledge of PC and Mac
- Good knowledge of Outlook and other email clients
- Familiarity with reading and writing documentation
- Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is required for daily operations

A strong service orientation, good social and technical skills, ability to collaborate, problem-solving analytical skills, as well as verbal and written communication.
Meritorious
- Education as an IT technician and/or Support technician
- Experience from centrally managed computer environments
- Experience working with IT support in academic environments
- Experience in complex IT environments
- Experience in a coordinating role
