IF Metall is now recruiting an additional Data Protection Officer for a central and dynamic role, becoming part of our data protection team. You will have the opportunity to work alongside knowledgeable colleagues on everything from strategies, knowledge dissemination, and training to follow-up concerning the entire organization’s privacy and information management. We are looking for someone who has an interest in making complex regulations simple and practical to follow in daily operations. The position is full-time and is a permanent employment located at the union office at Hötorget in central Stockholm. Here, you will work in modern and tailored facilities with engaged colleagues. About the position As a Data Protection Officer, you will play a central role in developing and coordinating the union's operations to meet the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and complementary legislation. Your work will be connected to the entire organization to build effective data protection in collaboration with other Data Protection Officers, Data Protection Representatives, Data Protection Coordinators, operational managers, and other employees. This collaboration also includes the information security officer and information managers. Your tasks will include, among others: - Managing the rights of data subjects - Preparing data protection matters by conducting investigations and gathering the needs of the organization - Handling personal data incidents - Conducting internal training and conferences on data protection issues - Performing impact assessments - Working on measures linked to the Data Protection Representative's control plan and reports - Updating the privacy policy based on the mapping of various work processes - Establishing data processing agreements and mutual arrangements Additional Information: Start date by agreement; salary and employment conditions are according to the collective agreement for salaried employees. The position includes travel, primarily nationally to our departments but also to conferences and training relevant to the role of Data Protection Officer. We are looking for someone who combines knowledge of IT and cybersecurity with knowledge of GDPR. You should be able to engage in discussions with IT regarding technical measures, understand how the requirements for information security and other principles within GDPR can be implemented in IT solutions, and contribute to technical requirements for IT solutions. You should also be able to support IT and operational projects with built-in data protection. Experience with IF Metall or working within another trade union organization is an advantage, as is experience working in a values-driven or member-led organization. You have a strong ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing. You share the values of the labor movement and want to make a difference. To succeed in this role, you should be results-oriented and responsive to the support needs present in various parts of the organization.
