Welcome to develop and grow with one of Södermanland's largest employers. We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced IT Infrastructure Technician with a focus on IT security for the System Technology unit.
Region Södermanland IT (RSIT) has approximately 140 employees located in three locations: Nyköping, Eskilstuna, and Katrineholm. We are the primary provider of IT services to the region, delivering complete IT solutions to support operations with system development, architecture, project management, administration, and operations. The region has around 10,000 users and infrastructure across the entire geographical area of Region Södermanland. We work according to the system management model PM3 and deliver services in accordance with ITIL.
Your Responsibilities
The role involves protecting and developing our IT environment. You will analyze, monitor, and prevent security threats while ensuring that our systems and services maintain the highest possible security level.
The role also includes managing systems, services, and functions within IT security, which means you will actively work with the operation, maintenance, and development of security solutions. You will participate in both strategic and operational aspects of security work, such as incident management, vulnerability analysis, and follow-up on security incidents. We prefer that you have a good technical understanding and experience with modern security tools and platforms.
Main Tasks
- Monitor the IT environment to identify and analyze security incidents.
- Conduct log and event analyses in collaboration with operations.
- Support the management and investigation of IT security incidents.
- Participate in vulnerability analyses, risk assessments, and security testing.
- Follow up on security-related measures and report to responsible functions.
- Contribute to the development of security routines, processes, and governing documents.
- Collaborate with system owners and other IT functions to strengthen proactive security efforts.
Your Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you need to have a broad understanding of IT security, strong analytical skills, and experience working with security-related issues in complex IT environments.
Formal Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in IT, information security, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with IT security, incident management, or operational environments in larger organizations.
- Good understanding of networks, operating systems, log management, and IT infrastructure.
- Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIS2, and GDPR is an advantage.

It is advantageous if you:
- Are well-acquainted with the Microsoft portfolio and also have experience with Linux services in the security field.
- Have worked on setting up rules, policies, and scripts (e.g., in PowerShell) as well as other technical security solutions.
- Hold a B driver's license.
Other Requirements:
- Swedish - fluent in spoken and written form.
- English - very good knowledge in spoken and written form.

Employment Type
Permanent position with start date by agreement. A satisfactory result in the security screening with a background check, conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act, is also required for employment.
