About the Position
We are seeking educators for Iris's Vocational Introduction program for sign language users at our facility in Örebro. The target group for this program consists of deaf and severely hearing-impaired individuals who are seeking employment, considering education, or starting their own business.
Your Responsibilities
The target group for this assignment includes deaf and severely hearing-impaired individuals who rely on sign language for communication and require tailored support to obtain employment. As an educator, you will work on planning, documentation, and implementation of supportive measures to help participants achieve their goals. This includes study and career guidance, motivational initiatives such as individual coaching, teaching, and workshops. As an educator, you will also be responsible for planning, securing, and following up on work trials and internship placements. You will have the support of a team of colleagues with extensive experience and expertise in tailored educational initiatives.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with experience working with the target group of deaf and severely hearing-impaired individuals. Since the position is conducted in Swedish sign language, we require proficiency in Swedish sign language. A prerequisite is that you have experience in planning and coordinating activating and motivating initiatives, documented experience in guiding individuals towards studies and employment, experience in securing work trials and internship placements, and possess digital competence. Knowledge about the target group is essential for you to work with us.
You have a knack for building connections and maintaining relationships as you are attentive and effective in communication. At the same time, you can influence others by creating engagement and motivation. You are flexible and can adapt when the conditions of tasks change, while also taking responsibility for your duties and for achieving the participants' goals and Iris's objectives. We emphasize personal suitability for the position. Being multilingual is a merit.
Furthermore, we are looking for candidates who meet one of the following criteria:
* At least one (1) year of experience in the last five years working full-time or part-time (at least 50% of full-time) guiding adults, or alternatively young adults aged 16-25, towards employment and studies. Additionally, at least one (1) year of experience in the last five years working full-time or part-time (at least 50% of full-time) with activating and motivating initiatives (see module 3) for the target group of deaf and severely hearing-impaired individuals who rely on sign language for communication.
* Ability to communicate fluently in sign language and have at least one (1) year of experience in the last five years working full-time or part-time (at least 50% of full-time) with the target group of deaf and severely hearing-impaired individuals who rely on sign language for communication. Additionally, have at least one (1) year of experience in the last five years working full-time or part-time (at least 50% of full-time) integrating individuals with disabilities into the workforce and providing conditions for job seekers to find, obtain, and retain employment.
