Internship in the Monetary Policy Department

WE OFFER YOU The opportunity to gain practical work experience in economic policy work in an environment focused on issues central to Sweden's economic development. Here, you'll gain a unique insight into how monetary policy is shaped and implemented, with great opportunities to develop in collaboration with knowledgeable and committed colleagues. WHAT YOU'LL DO HERE Over six to twelve months, you'll be part of our team working on preparing the basis for the Riksbank's monetary policy decisions in the Monetary Policy Department (APP). You'll compile and analyze data for the monetary policy report and support the members of the Riksbank Executive Board by preparing presentation materials and documentation for external speeches. You may also participate in analysis projects on economic developments, both in Sweden and internationally. During your time with us, you'll work on one or two of our three policy units to gain the broadest possible experience for your future career. YOUR TEAM You'll be placed in one of three units within APP, which together are responsible for preparing forecasts and documentation for the Riksbank's monetary policy decisions. You'll collaborate with approximately 20 colleagues, all with backgrounds in economics and related fields. We work together to prepare monetary policy decisions, develop speeches and in-depth analyses, and examine the effects of monetary policy on the Swedish economy. MORE ABOUT YOU We're seeking someone who is about to complete or has recently completed a master's degree in economics, financial economics, or econometrics. You have a strong interest in socio-economic issues and are passionate about starting to work with these issues in practice. As a person, you are self-driven, proactive, and quick to understand new issues. Since our work largely occurs in collaboration with others, we place great value on your ability to work in a team. You are also structured, quality-conscious, and results-oriented. Experience in structuring and presenting data will be an advantage. Excellent Swedish and English skills, both verbal and written, are required. We prefer candidates with practical experience using the Office suite and statistical programs.
