About this role

Do you have professional experience in international cooperation and are you interested in a varied role in a dynamic environment? The International Office of the Swedish Parliament (RIK) is now seeking an International Advisor for a fixed-term position starting on January 19, 2026. RIK assists the Speakers and Members of Parliament in their international engagements. RIK also provides secretarial support to parliamentary delegations to various parliamentary assemblies and to the Parliament's democracy-promoting cooperation. In the realm of international exchange, RIK works on planning and executing meetings, visits, and trips, as well as organizing seminars and conferences. **Your Responsibilities** Your responsibilities will include handling international matters at RIK. This involves assisting in the secretarial support for parliamentary delegations to interparliamentary assemblies and working with international visits to the Parliament, seminars, and conferences. Your tasks will include managing current issues, preparing materials and speeches, developing programs for and hosting incoming visits, writing reports, and making assessments based on our guidelines. Administrative tasks will also be part of your responsibilities. You will have numerous contacts and work closely with both Members of Parliament and officials, as well as authorities and embassies. **Your Qualifications** We are looking for someone with relevant academic education and experience in working with international activities and handling, as well as knowledge of, international issues. You have experience in international cooperation and in arranging international visits, trips, conferences, and seminars, along with a good understanding of Swedish public administration. You are accustomed to working independently and making your own assessments based on existing guidelines. You express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English and possess strong analytical and stylistic abilities. The role requires you to quickly familiarize yourself with new issues and to be solution-oriented, service-minded, and unpretentious. You are quality-conscious and skilled at organizing and structuring your work, and you are used to working in an environment where the pace can be high at times. Previous experience in the office's area of responsibility, the Parliament Administration, or the Government Offices is an advantage. You are flexible, have good judgment and integrity, and a solid understanding of the civil servant role. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities, particularly your ability to collaborate and communicate. The position is fixed-term until June 7.
