About this role
We are currently seeking an interim Quality Manager for a client in Helsingborg, starting on December 9th. The assignment is of indefinite duration, but the initial assessment is that it will last approximately 3–6 months. This role is for someone who can quickly take control of quality operations in a business with fast flows and high regulatory demands within the food industry.
About the position
As the interim Quality Manager, you will have overall responsibility for quality operations within the business, which encompasses Sweden, Finland, and Spain. In Sweden, you will lead a quality specialist. In the other countries, you will be responsible for quality operations in collaboration with local resources without personnel responsibility. The role is both operational and strategic, with about 70 percent of your time spent on operational tasks. You will be the most experienced quality professional in the organization and will anchor decisions with the Head of Operations, to whom you will also report.
You will work in an environment where fresh products and fast supply chains impose high demands for precision, pace, and food safety. Quality systems, certifications, and regulatory contact are central parts of the assignment.
Your main responsibilities will include:
• Responsible for and developing the company's quality systems, such as HACCP, VAACP, IFS, IP, or equivalent
• Ensuring compliance with food legislation as well as environmental and sustainability requirements
• Conducting and following up on internal and external audits
• Responsible for traceability and deviation investigations
• Driving improvement work within quality, food safety, and processes
• Training and supporting employees on quality issues
• Collaborating with suppliers to ensure product quality, especially when importing fresh products
• Acting as the contact person for authorities, such as the Swedish Food Agency
Who are you?
Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in food technology, agronomy, biology, chemistry, or equivalent experience
• Held a leadership position within quality
• Experience with supplier systems
• At least 3–5 years of experience in quality work within the food industry – preferably with fresh products, fruits & vegetables, or similar
• Good knowledge of food legislation
• Experience in supplier assessment and audits
• Proficient in IT and experienced in working with business systems
• Proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written; additional languages are a plus
• Previous experience in sustainability work is advantageous
