About the Organization The Urban Environment Administration started its operations on January 1, 2023, as part of Gothenburg City's new urban development organization (NOS). The administration has a comprehensive responsibility for the city's public spaces and accessibility – with the goal of creating accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The Outdoor Environments and Urban Life department works on developing and managing the city's parks, forests, lakes, playgrounds, beaches, and activity areas. The department is also responsible for urban space development, safety work, and public space allocations. About the Assignment As an interim unit manager, you will lead and develop the Allocations and Agreements unit. The assignment includes personnel, financial, and operational responsibility, and you will become a central part of the department's management team. You are expected to work present and engaged, focusing on work environment, structure, and clear communication. The unit faces continued measures in its work environment efforts, and you will play a crucial role in creating stability, trust, and a sustainable work culture. The role includes, among other things: • Leading and planning the unit's operations in allocations, agreements, and traffic coordination. • Ensuring accessibility during events and permits for market trading and establishments. • Managing agreements, leases, and authority matters related to city-owned land. • Driving development work and contributing to collaboration across departmental boundaries. • Continuing to implement measures for a good work environment and actively addressing group dynamic challenges. This is a full-time consulting assignment, which means you will be employed by StudentConsulting and work as a consultant for the City of Gothenburg, Urban Environment Administration. The assignment runs from December 1, 2026 – May 31, 2026, starting as soon as possible (but no later than January 12, 2026). You are expected to be on-site at Åvägen in Gothenburg at least 80% of the working time. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are seeking someone who has: • Relevant college or university degree (minimum bachelor's level) in public administration or equivalent. • At least 3 years of cumulative experience as a manager with personnel, work environment, budget, and operational responsibilities. • Experience in leading change processes, including conflict management and culture or value-based work. • Experience in dialogue and collaboration with external stakeholders and customers. • Experience working in a politically governed organization. It is meritorious if you have completed leadership training such as UL (Developmental Leadership), UGL (Group and Leadership Development), or similar.
